The V.M.I. And Her Sons - In The Past
by Joseph R. Anderson, published
by Virginia Military Institute in 1904. A 10 page pamphlet based on a
speech before the Washington Chapter Virginia Military Institute Alumni
Association at a banquet at the New Willard Hotel on March 15, 1904.
Pamphlet is in good condition except that it has been folded down the
middle at some point. Pamphlet is signed by the author "Compliments of
J.R. Anderson". Anderson's speech focuses on the research he did on the
careers of V.M.I. cadets. He lists hundreds of names of former cadets
who served during the Civil War and Spanish American War, including 5
major-generals, 20 brigadier-generals, who fought for the Confederacy
and several officers who fought for the Union.
