Instructions for Submission of Material to The Bivouac Banner

1)      Submissions must relate to the American Civil War in some manner. Sole decision as to the appropriateness of the material for publication rests with the editors. The invitation to submit material does not presuppose that the material will be published.

2)      The editors reserve the right to edit material based on length, accuracy, spelling or punctuation. The editors further reserve the right to add appropriate illustrations or to delete material not directly applicable to the main topic. Where possible the editors will consult with the author prior to publication.

3)      The Bivouac, it’s editors and it’s subscribers do not retain any rights to material submitted for publication. The author is free to subsequently offer the material for publication elsewhere. 

4)      The author testifies that they have the legal right to submit their material for publication. They certify that the submission contains no plagiarized  material and that the rights are not currently under legal or contractual obligation to other publishers. The Bivouac and its editors accept no responsibility for inaccuracies in material submitted for publication.

5)      Fictional submissions will be clearly labeled as such by the author.

6)      Material should be submitted in either Microsoft Word format, text files, or email. Images should be scanned and submitted as attachments. Authors should check with the editor prior to submitting material in hard copy form or in another format.
